In Chat - Audio messages now have timestamp before playing You can add more members in a group chat More dedicated file previews for documents, apks, pdfs, code etc RichText preview support in Chat For other apps - performance enhancements and bug fixes as always And on the super important yet invisible back-end Enhanced caching system to support scaling, featuring two levels: local cache and distributed cache. New batch update API for files, enabling the addition, modification, or removal of metadata and payloads in a single request. Improvements to internal storage and transfer history tracking. In addition to file transfer history, a summary is now maintained. Introduced support for local metadata (JSON and tags) that remains private and is not transmitted during file transfers, allowing users to retain sender-specific information. • We've released a new major feature: Introductions. 🤝 What are Introductions? Introductions let you connect two or more of your contacts, facilitating seamless communication. When you create a new chat group, introductions occur automatically among the participants. How do Introductions work? When you're introduced to someone, they can send you chat messages by default. You can then choose to upgrade an introduced contact to a confirmed contact, add them to your circles, or follow them. Customizing Introductions If the default settings don't suit your preferences, you can adjust how introductions are handled in your settings. Getting Started To use this feature, ensure your identity is upgraded. Simply log in to your owner console to complete the upgrade. • We're rolling out our new logo and you've probably already noticed it appearing on your phone. The logo has many interpretations at once. It forms the letter H for Homebase. It also forms the letter H and i for Homebase.id. Additionally, it's a home, with a rather large chimney perhaps, and the sun rising behind it. This signifies the idea that Homebase is your safe and secure home online. Finally, it's also an individual person (the sun becomes the head). We've made using emojis in the Homebase.id chat app faster and easier! 🎉 However, as part of this upgrade, any old reactions were removed, so you can start adding new ones now. 💬 Curious for more technical details ⚙️: 🚀 Dedicated Reaction API: A specialized API to efficiently manage emoji reactions across the platform, focusing on chat messages... for now 📊 Enhanced Data Management: Emoji reactions are now stored in a dedicated database table, making them easily queryable. ⚡ Optimized Performance: A reaction preview is stored with each file, eliminating extra requests to fetch reactions, ensuring faster load times. • Great news! We have some new updates ready for your Homebase Enjoyment. 🚀 New outbox engine with boosted performance. Anything going from your identity to another goes through the outbox which means better manageable data/content delivery, noisy neighbor management, resiliency 🚀 Link previews in Chat and Feed. When you paste a link, we now get the Open Graph (OG) data, if available, to show a preview of the page in your feed, chat, and other apps. Of course, in the Homebase way - this query to the OG data is done via your identity server which keeps your client safe. 🚀 Speaking of Chat, the performance has been boosted granting faster message downloads and notifications. 🎗️Reminder!
